he DTLA tour should really be called the Historic DTLA Tour. It is a learning tour that takes you back through time and shows you what Los Angeles was like at the turn of the century and what Los Angeles is like now. Learn about LA’s history, architecture and culture. See the real side of our beautiful city, all while riding bicycles. This bike tour takes you on a slow paced ride through some of LA’s most famous streets, landmarks and districts. Our experienced tour guide will share his extensive knowledge of the city with you. We will talk about the origin of LA’s street names, stories about every district we visit. We will also point out old street signs, old manhole covers, old rail lines of early Los Angeles and things you can only see and appreciate when you ride bicycles in Los Angeles.
Witness a day in one of the world’s most diverse cities. Even Angelinos who have taken the tour are surprised to see things they never knew were there and comment that it is “the best way to explore downtown”. We make several stops during the tour to take pictures or to visit a building or business. This tour starts in the Union Station Area, which is a perfect place to start since LA’s oldest street, Olvera Street is near by. Our Tour starts in the year 1781 when Los Angeles was established. We will talk about most structures we ride past, we will also talk about skid rows history here in the city and ride past many streets and alleys that most Angelinos are unaware of. We will also be riding bikes down the Historic Theater District and we will talk about the old nickelodeon and arcade buildings of the 1890′s and the old movie palaces of the 1920′s. If you are a history buff, then this is the perfect tour for you!
